Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events in our newsletter and on our calendar. Click the links for all the details.

  1. July 4 Celebrations. See our guide with events starting July 2 and going through the weekend both in Madison neighborhoods and surrounding areas for festivals, bike parades, fireworks, and more
  2. Outdoor music. Each week in the summer there are so many parks and places to relax with picnics and enjoy a concert - from Olbrich gardens Tuesday, Westmoreland Park Wednesday, Friday at the Children's Museum Wonderground, Brittingham Bay (where you can rent a boat), Waunakee, and Orton Park in addition to Concerts on the Square Wednesday
  3. July Sun Fun Prairie and Waunakee Fun. All month the city east of Madison becomes FUN Prairie and with pop-up treats, markets, specials at the pool, a Kids Fest, and more - plus you can get in the Olympic spirit in Waunakee with a scavenger hunt for a prize.
  4. Madison Mallards and Night Mares homestand. Madison's semi-pro baseball and softball teams have a long homestand over the next week - with extra promotions including fireworks! The games are fun, with silly contests and other areas to explore no matter how the game is going.
  5. Firefly Hike. Hike the beautiful Indian Lake County Park Saturday to make your own firefly jar and roast marshmallows!

Plus check out our other summer fun ideas and rainy day activities.
