Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events in our newsletter. Click the links for all the details.
- Hispanic Heritage @ MCM. We've had great events throughout the month, and Thursday the Madison Children's Musuem has a free night of celebration with music, free food samples, crafts, science, and scavenger hunt.
- Family swim Friday. We love MSCR programs, and their family open swim at Lapham Elementary's warm pool (with toys and floaties) is a cheap and fun family evening during the school year.
- Fall Fests (3). It's another packed weekend of seasonal festivals - we love Monona's (Saturday) and the pre-fest "hoot hoot hustle," plus there's Cambridge Harvest Fest at Ripley Park, Lake Louie Brewing's Pumpkin Phest with pumpkin carving and a dunk tank, balloons, animals, and more at the Bruce Company's Family Fall Fest, and Sunday's New Glarus Harvest Fest, Four Winds Farm Food Trucks.
- Janesville's Enchanted Forest. Take a short trip to Janesville Wednesday-Saturday for hay rides, barrel rides, a candlelit walk, skits, and more - for just $ per person!
- Nature Exploration. In addition to our favorite hiking spots, head to Indian Lake Saturday for free exploration, s'mores over a fire, and a beautiful hike, or Sunday morning to Holy Wisdom for their Kids on the Prairie series
AND there is lots more family fun this fall, including Olbrich's GLEAM (starting earlier in October) see our full calendar!
