This week GLEAM continues at Olbrich Gardens, you can start making a Halloween diorama, and my family and others observe Yom Kippur
1. Find a playgroup. With bigger kids in school, check out toddler play group options - including Monday, find the pop-up cafe in Cross Plains for a nature-themed group, the regular Tuesday outdoor playgroup in Monona or the Anji Play hosted by the public library, and the regular Thursday group at the Neighborhood House Community Center.
2. Hispanic Heritage Month Continues. Celebrate with a free night at the Children's Museum Thursday with cultural performances, crafts, and food, and a free soccer clinic at the Día de Fútbol at Breese Stevens Saturday.
3. Fall = Chili. On Saturday head to Monona's 40th Annual Chili cookoff for tons of sampling with 1 ticket, or Deerfield Lions Club as well (you'll need energy for Schuster's Farm nearby). 4. Fall isn't too cold, yet. Take advantage of continued warm weather and get outside Friday for a Night Hike and Fire in Cross Plains or the Full Moon Paddle at Wingra Boats.
5. Art fairs aren't just for summer. On Sunday stroll through Schumacher Farm in Waunakee for an artisan market and food, the Mt. Horeb Village market, or kids can drop-in to make their own art at libraries in Monona Monday, Fitchburg Tuesday, and Madison Thursday - and support the Sun Prairie Library at their party in the Prairie Saturday.
