Come celebrate this amazing planet with us on Saturday, May 3rd from 10am - 2pm. This FREE event is great for kids of all ages!
Thanks to our friends at the Dane County Regional Arborists Group, we will once again be offering our popular tree climbing activity. Volunteers will help kids climb up in to some of the mature oak trees on Zoo grounds. Wheelchair harnesses will be available!
You’ll want to check out the activities provided by our partners from Save Our Songbirds, Dane County Land and Water, Wisconsin DNR, Tree Canopy Collaborative to learn about local plants, and native pollinators and songbirds! We will also be giving away American Hazelnut and Sycamore saplings for you to take home and plant while supplies last. We’ll also have storytime by Henry the Lion, and an opportunity to meet some of our special animal ambassadors up close.
Party for the Planet will also be your first chance to 'adopt' this year's Sewing Stuffies for Survival stuffed animals. This year our amazing volunteers upcycled old Zoo Run t-shirts to create adorable capybara stuffed animals. Each of these handcrafted stuffed animals come with a card that tells your more about their unique personalities. 100% of the money raised from the adoption of these stuffed animals goes to wildlife conservation. This year's conservation partner is the Rainforest Alliance! Capys will be available for $30.
