Description
Family Art Makings Studio (FAMS) at Monroe Street Arts Center is a free weekly art-making session for families that provides opportunities for children who are interested in exploring the visual arts but do not have access to affordable art programming outside of their school. Every Friday from 5:00-6:00, this open studio-style class will offer 2-3 different visual art-making projects at various skill levels under the guidance of an MSAC Art Instructor. Caregivers and students are encouraged to participate together!
Creative enrichment experiences are often not accessible to families who lack the resources required to fund art or music classes outside of traditional school programs, and FAMS is designed to supplement this need. FAMS provides art making opportunities to families interested in engaging their children in the arts in an accessible way. This program opens doors to families that have been out of our reach due to scheduling or financial constraints that aren't always resolved through our limited scholarship funding.
Sessions are every Friday, from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. FAMS is limited to 18 participants per session, including caregivers. Please be aware that FAMS sessions will fill up quickly and may be full before sessions begin.
