Black history, Valentines, dance and more

By Aaron Seligman, MacaroniKID Madison publisher February 10, 2025

Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events and family-friendly ideas in our newsletter. Click the links for all the details:

  1. Black History Celebration. The Madison Children's Museum has a free Thursday evening with artists, drumming, storytelling, scavenger hunt and more!
  2. Friday Family Fun night. Warner Park Friday's are back for 2025 with an open gym, play areas, art projects, a movie (with popcorn) and more for just $5 per family.
  3. Kid Valentine celebrations. All week kids can feel the love with Chocolate in Mt. Horeb (Mon), for young ones Tuesday at the Children's Museum, ice skating or decorating cookies (Wed), crafting (Fri) at the circus (Fri/Sat)
  4. Saturday dance parties. Inspired by Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl? See kid-friendly hip-hop at Kids in the Rotunda, the monthly Kid Disco at the Great Dane, and kid dance party at Gamma Ray Bar and an afternoon Barn Dance at the Goodman Community Center.
  5. Candyland! A fun, short trip from Madison to see how the Marshall Library transforms into a giant candyland adventure Saturday or Sunday

What did we miss? You can add events to our calendar (it's free!) and contact us about promoting your event or organization.
