New year's, first day, winter market, rotunda, and more

By Aaron Seligman, MacaroniKID Madison publisher December 30, 2024

Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events in our newsletter. Click the links for all the details.

This week make some winter break plans and celebrate the start of 2025 with:

  1. New/Noon Year's Eve.  There are plenty of fun ways to celebrate the new year this week earlier in the day for "noon" year's eve. We're especially excited for KEVA's family party in Middleton, the  Sun Prairie Children's museum, but see our calendar to find a place that fits your schedule, budget, and family favorites.
  2. First Day hikes. A great way to start the year - state parks all around are hosting "first day" hikes at varying times with bonfires and other special activities.
  3. Late Winter Market. The Dane County Farmer's Market shifts to Garver Feed Mill on Saturdays now through April 5 - and the big indoor space is fun to explore in any weather. This week there's also the parent/child happy hours with special activities and food to stay active.
  4. Kids in the Rotunda. After a break, Kids in the Rotunda returns to Overture with one of our favorite performers in David Landau (who you can also see Monday's @ the Harmony Bar)
  5. Open Gyms. Kids will need to burn off some energy this week - get out to WiscoKidz anyday (and get a discount with us), Lake City Twisters M/T/Th/F Jump Around gymnastics Friday.

Kids need fun experiences all year - our  experiences discount card  helps make them more affordable, and supports kids wellness through Tri 4 Schools!

What did we miss? You can add events to our calendar (it's free!) and contact us about promoting your event or organization.
