Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events in our newsletter. Click the links for all the details.

This week there are tons of Halloween events, so we'll just highlight some, you can see them in our guide and pick your favorites from our full calendar.

  1. UW HomecomingThe Badgers have lots of fun all week, including a Friday parade, with a meetup beforehand and the badger bash Saturday with family activities and the band before the game.
  2. Halloween trick or treating. So. much. candy.  trunk-or-treating Tuesday,  at the PAC and downtown Sun Prairie (Thursday), downtown Verona and a super secret hunt in Monona (Friday), and  Saturday on Monroe St., Elver Park and Oregon, then New Glarus (Sunday)
  3. Halloween festivals and crafts
  4. Haunted hikes/hayrides. Head to Mt. Horeb (Thursday) and Verona (Friday) for hikes with scary/less scary options
  5. Northside Friday. It's a cheap family fun night at Warner Park Friday (with a Halloween theme), or Governor Nelson State Park has a candlelight hike with s'mores

AND there is lots more ongoing family fun this fall, including our fall farm guide and Olbrich's GLEAM, and more beautiful areas for fall colors.

What did we miss? You can add events to our calendar (it's free!) and contact us about promoting your event or organization.
