Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events in our newsletter. Click the links for all the details.
- United Way Community Kickoff. Wednesday afternoon, one of favorite venues, Breese Stevens Field, hosts an "explore united" carnival to play games for prizes, plus enjoy the local favorites like Kona Ice and learn about how you can get involved in our community.
- Tiny Diners, part 2. Hilldale's Tiny Diners is back for another round Wednesday, this time with a mermaid princess and entertainment along with their restaurant and takeout options.
- Fests east and west. On the east side there's the Orton Park Festival Friday-Sunday, with Forward Marching Band and Cyropia dance early Friday, and in Middleton the Good Neighbor Festival has all the rides and other free games, art, music, a 5k, movies, and a Sunday parade.
- Unity Picnic and Ribbon Cutting. On Saturday afternoon, the new Black Business Hub on the south side's ribbon cutting has a kids corner, food, lots of free resources and activities to welcome the new space.
- Summer Sendoffs, part 1. Celebrate summer reading achievements at the Oregon Pool Wednesday, a back-to-school block party Thursday with games and school supplies, a summer sendoff with a petting zoo Friday in Lodi, and more free community resources at Operation Fresh Start's block party on the east side and Luna's Groceries south/west with dancing, games, and giveaways.
