Madison School Community Recreation (MSCR) fall program guide is live - and Registration for residents opens Monday, August 12 at 12pm and Monday, August 26 for non-residents.
Aaron's note - we love MSCR programs - from sports, afterschool programs, specialized art classes, a family campout, summer camps - we've done them all and are continuously impressed with the organization and enthusiasm from program staff!
Check out several new classes:
- Owl Wall Hanging - Learn the fundamentals of sewing by hand with this project.
- Use yarn, burlap and dull “learning” needles to stitch a cute owl pattern.
- Grades 3-5 Mondays, September 30 - October 21, 5-6pm at MSCR West
- Radial Weaving -
- Learn radial weaving with painted concentric circles and printmaking.
- Grades 5-7, Mondays, September 23 - October 21, 6:30-7:45pm at MSCR East
- Adventures in Gardening -
- Participants get hands on experience with growing plants. Use a mix of crafts and gardening activities to explore the natural world.
- Tuesdays, September 10 - October 21 at MSCR West - 3 yr Child + Adult: 9-9:45am, 4 yr Child + Adult: 10-10:45am & K-2: 3:30-4:30pm

- Mentes Creativas/Creative Minds - ¿Tienes interés en crear historias cortas creativas/Do you have an interest in creating creative short stories? Are you bilingual/Eres bilingüe? Mentes creativas invites young authors quien hablan español y ingles to use their creativity to produce short stories in both languages.
- Participants receive an introduction to bilingual literature and focus on creating stories based on weekly, engaging prompts.
- Grades 5-7: Sundays, September 22-October 27, 1:15-2:45pm at MSCR West
- Preschool Española - Child + Adult
- Bienvenidos! Preschool Española provides children and their guardians an intro into the Spanish language.
- Sundays, September 22 - October 27, 3-3:45pm at MSCR West
