Top 5 Other Things to Do in Madison This Week: April 22nd

Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events in our newsletter and on our calendar. Click the links for all the details. This week check out:

  1. Earth Day. Monday you can plant flowers in Middleton, explore Token Creek in Deforest, join the "trash bash" in Monona, and in the afternoon the Extravaganza at the Lussier Center (and Friday for their family night out) , and Saturday in Middleton the sustainability fair has lots of free and fun activities for kids including electric vehicles and bikes, zoo animals, face painting, and more.
  2.  Breese Stevens Bodega. In addition to being a fun place for the Forward FC soccer (they're doing a free clinic Tuesday), the Bodega has tons of food and vendors, and is an open and safe place to run around Friday!
  3. Badgerland Remake Learning Days. Lots of hands-on learning this week including construction trucks in Monona Monday, a strings and cello open house at MyArts Tuesday, a Deforest Tinker Zone  or decorative bag making Wednesday and free laser engraving in Stoughton or a  family night at the Madison Children's Museum Thursday with lots of special guests and activities
  4. Weekend in the garden. Sunday head to Schumacher Farm in Waunakee for nature activities, kite flying, and yard games. Or a do a grown-up exploration at the Sprout  Spring Makers Market in Cottage Grove with their new garden center, food trucks, bar and outdoor market. And in Madison, head to Amara restaurant for a garden party and build your own bouquet. 
  5. Spring community shows. Community theater show feature Anastasia in Verona, Clue in Middleton, Beauty and the Beast in Sun Prairie, and the UW Madhatters.
