Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events in our newsletter and on our calendar. Click the links for all the details. This week check out:

  1. Half-Pint Spring Fling. Saturday morning, as part of the area's largest and 100% consignment sale, we've teamed up to bring crafting, treats, martial arts, and bounce house, games, and giveaways for kids while you get all the clothes and gear you need.
  2.  Earth Day everywhere. Starting Saturday, check out events at Hilldale, a bilingual conservation fair at Elver Park, at Stone Horse Green in Middleton, on Monroe Street with an afternoon bike parade and scavenger hunt, at Forest Products lab with Children's Theater of Madison and other exhibits, and a Monona Dream Park cleanup or other citywide challenges.
  3. Terrace Opens with a Party. One of our favorite summer spots, the Memorial Union Terrace opens Wednesday with a DJ, Bucky, and UW dance team.
  4. Library free demonstrations and DIY. Check out the amazing Alebrijes art from Mexico Monday at Pinney or Goodman libraries, DIY a sugar scrub in Fitchburg Wednesday or collages Friday, and make your own kite Sunday at Thurber Park.
  5. Box of Balloons. Sunday this Olympic-themed bash features obstacles an games, prizes, crafts  - more Bucky, and supports a great cause to provide birthday parties to kids in need.

What did we miss? You can add events to our calendar (it's free!) and contact us about promoting your event or organization.
