We'll have Easter events (we're excited for Amara's craft party) and spring break ideas soon, but this week check out:
- St. Patrick's Fun. My family is 0% Irish, but we're still excited for Candy Leprechaun Houses Tuesday, seeing Trinity Irish Dancers Wednesday in both Deforest AND Mt. Horeb, then Sunday in Fitchburg, a St. Patrick's Family Fun Day at Brennan's Market Saturday, and the 24th annual parade downtown Madison Sunday.
- Pi(e) Day. No matter what you think of math, Thursday, 3/14 is a great time to celebrate Pi(e). Enjoy discounted slices and a pie-eating contest at Hubbard Ave. Diner in Middleton, plus get pie and make a pin at the library, homemade pies on sale at the Waunakee Library (also a fun play area), and the curious crafter has TWO opportunities - make air dry pies during the day, and felt pie magnets in the evening.
- Terrace Town. Kids from local schools (including my daughter's) have worked hard to build model cities, which will all be on display free Saturday at the Monona Terrace along with activities for kids.
- Flight of Lights. Take a free drive through the lights by the Airport starting each night Friday through April 7. Plenty of fun big displays and local landmarks.
- Syrup and Spring Fun. The Aldo Leopold Maple Syrup Festival Saturday has hiking, games, and maple-flavored treats, and Naturing in Madison has free trial classes in local parks Saturday and next Monday
