Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area. Click the links for all the details.

This Sunday a sponsor, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, has a free Family Series with the "3 Little Pigs Answer Beethoven 5," plus:

  1. Maple Syrup Season. Head to Waunakee Saturday at Schumacher Farm Park or Mt. Horeb Sunday for maple syrup demonstration at Donald Park with a hike and tasting -- plus plan ahead for the Maple Syrup Festival next weekend at Aldo Leopold Nature Center.
  2. The Big Share. Tuesday is an online giving day to support the many nonprofits that help kids around Dane County - and a great chance to talk with kids about the importance of giving back.
  3. Summer paddle and bike gear. At the Alliant Center this weekend, get your summer gear for biking for parents and kids at Bikeorama (also featuring kid-friendly, with face painting and juggling/comedy, and Canoepcopia (featuring park exhibits and activities for kids).
  4. Friday Gym. Get kids moving at any age with the drop-in Tumble Room in Sun Prairie, KEVA Sports at the Middleton Library, and an open gym (plus games, and a movie) at family fun night at Warner Park.
  5. Mac and cheese. No relation, I promise - but this Sunday the Wisco has a mac-and-cheese cookoff. Plus if you're feeling cheesey, local singer of "mac and cheese" among other kid bangers David Landau is at the Harmony Bar Monday, and you can see the world cheese championship  Tuesday/Wednesday his week

And join us for a free playgroup in Verona this week, and plan ahead for the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's free families series March 10.
