This week continues holiday crafts and  Madison and the surrounding area offers plenty of options, including:

  1. More area lightings. Last weekend was just the start. Light it up and enjoy festivities in Deforest Wednesday, New Glarus Thursday, and Friday in Cambridge , Oregon (with a chili dinner!), Belleville (and a cookie walk Saturday), Waunakee and Cottage Grove (with parades!), McFarland  and Black Earth Saturday, and the Capitol pageant Sunday.
  2. Make a holiday craft. There's a free workshop in Sun Prairie Thursday-Saturday, make puppets and do a show in Mt. Horeb Friday, and holiday cards at the Curious Crafter Sunday
  3. Buy a holiday craft (at a market)! So many markets this weekend - New Glarus (Friday-Sunday), the Dane County Farmer's holiday Market and Fair Trade Holiday Festival at Monona Terrace, the City of Madison fair at Warner Park (Saturday), Aldo Leopold Nature Center (Sunday), and specials along Monroe Street Friday-Saturday.
  4. Take a (night) hike. Start the week with full moon story/hike Monday in Cottage Grove, a candlelight hike Friday in DeForest, or a family hike Sunday at Cherokee Marsh or the UW Arboretum.
  5. Find discounted books and toys. The Lil' Badger consignment sale Saturday (and 1/2 price Sunday) UW teach education has big discounts on books for all ages Friday/Saturday
