Top 5 Things to Do in Madison This Week (November 6)

Indoor park/libraries, chocolate/cheese, hayrides/lights, winter arts, and more family fun nights

By Aaron Seligman, MacaroniKID Madison publisher November 6, 2023

Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights ideas to do with kids in the Madison area. Click the links for all the details. This week you can win tickets to see Daniel Tiger Live, and enjoy:

1. Madison parks and libraries - inside. Check out "parks alive" for free food and family activities Monday on the South side or Tuesday in Fitchburg. And for more indoor fun head to Middleton Wednesday with the littles for baby bounce & bubbles or later for the K-5 midweek makers space, then Verona's Dino party Thursday or  Pogie the Yogie storytime Friday near west.

2. Chocolate + Cheese + samples + snacks. Head to Sun Prairie Saturday for their downtown chocolate and cheese walk. Family ticket packs are a deal and you can support lots of local businesses. Plus, you'll need a break from leftover candy.

3. Hit the hay (ride).  See the fantasy in lights at Olin Park on a hayride later on Saturday or earlier Sunday. Bring cash!

4. Winter Art. Head to the Monona Terrace (maybe before or after Kids in the Rotunda?) Saturday, or Sunday for the Winter Art Fair Off the Square. Kids 12 and under are free, plus there's a cool "young collectors" area where kids can do their own shopping (at kid prices, hint hint knock out an early holiday gift). Plus if you want more art, MyArts hosts the Black Arts Matter Festival and a talent competition.

5. Family fun night. On Friday enjoy open gym, movies, arts projects, games, and more at Warner Park, or Family Open Gym at the Boys  and Girls Club in Sun Prairie.
