Fall Half-Pint Resale: with Madison Children’s Museum and a Fall Fest!

Area’s largest consignment sale partners to bring fun for kids to the seasonal event 9/15-17

By Angie Lenius September 3, 2023

Half-Pint Resale, the Madison area’s oldest and largest children’s consignment sale, is hosting its semi-annual sale September 15 – 17 at the Mandt Center in Stoughton. More than just a way to save or make money, Half-Pint keeps resources and money in our community by allowing consignors to sell their items and shoppers to purchase like-new items at a fraction of retail prices. The sale, which takes place twice per year, features items for pregnant moms, expecting parents, and young families, including maternity and children’s clothing and toys for kids up to age 12.

It is perfect for those who want to raise their families green, stretch their money, or for those who just want to participate in this Madison-area tradition. Friday sales are for consignors and volunteers, with Saturday and Sunday open to the public, and Sunday sales featuring half off nearly everything. There are no fees for parking or entry the entire weekend. This fall’s sale will have everything needed to raise a family, but also a Mini Fall Festival during the Saturday sale. On Saturday from 11:30am to 1:30pm the Madison Children’s Museum will have their Mobile Roadshow at the sale for kids to enjoy. Throughout the day, there will also be food trucks, prizes raffled off, a temporary tattoo station, and yard games to play. “I hear from so many families that they have saved thousands of dollars by being a part of Half-Pint Resale,” says organizer Angie Lenius. “Many others are happy just to be green, knowing they are keeping their items local, and in good use by other families.”

In addition to children’s fall/winter clothing and toys, shoppers can find nursing and lactation supplies, cloth diapers, bassinettes, high chairs, baby carriers, and other warmer weather gear. There is also a maternity rack and dressing room for expecting moms, sponsored by Forward Fertility. There are additional items for older children, including gaming, sporting goods, and books. Items are inspected prior to being allowed onto the sales floor, so families can be sure they’re taking home good quality articles. Items not sold that their owners wish to donate will find their ways to area homes through local non-profits, including Stoughton’s Clothing Center, Kegonsa Elementary Working for Kids, Waunakee Neighborhood Connection, Open Doors for Refugees, and Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin.
