Every week, Macaroni KID Madison shares our five picks for things to do with your kids in the Madison area. Click the links for all the details.

This week with back-to-school be sure to check out the public libraries if you don't have school-age kids, plus:

1. Stay active! Keep kids moving on the Capital City bike path TODAY to the Shifting Gears Dance Festival, try martial arts in Sun Prairie Saturday mid day, and run the Iron Kids fun-run later, then Sunday enjoy open play at Breese Stevens field.

2. Nature time. Check out the Little Sprouts classes at Olbrich Gardens on Tuesday or  Friday, and do a free Naturing in Madison class Friday in Fitchburg or Saturday in Madison, and the Monarch Butterfly festival in Oregon Saturday or explore the prairie in Middleton Sunday.

3. Saturday Festivals. The day is full with free activities at the Monroe Street Festival, New Glarus Family Fest, Greek Fest in Madison, Yahara Riverfest in Deforest, and Heritage Fest in Waunakee

4. Good community. Drop in for toddler play Thursday at the Neighborhood House Community Center, or later at the Biergarten at the beach in Monona (with music and great playground), and a family fun night at the Warner Park Community Center Friday.

5. Good neighbors. The Good Neighbor Gathering Sunday at Brittingham park is packed with family-friendly fun, plus information on local organizations and resources.
