Top 5 things to do in Madison this week (June 5)

Bikes, 608 day, summerpalooza, frolic, and a flotilla

Every week, Macaroni KID Madison shares our picks for five things to do with your kids in the Madison area . Click on the links for all the details.

It's the last week of school for many of us, so avoid the summer slide with summer reading programs at libraries in: Deforest, Madison, McFarland, Monona, Middleton, Sun Prairie, and Verona, plus:

1. Bike week is underway! Check out all the food/drink meetups and giveaways along paths all week, including a final celebration on Friday. Kids can learn to ride Thursday, and do the Tri4schools Bike/Run Saturday.

2. 608 Day. Celebrate our area (code) day on Thursday at the Zoo or Hilldale, plus the night market returns downtown.

3. Summerpalooza. A free day at the Children's museum with activities, entertainment, and a parade on Saturday!

4. Mt. Horeb Summer Frolic, Thursday-Sunday and see special events and activities each day.

5. Marquette Waterfront Festival (my personal favorite). The Dandelion Dash Saturday is 100 yards of adorable, and the Sunday Fools Flotilla is unlike any other summer event.
