Top 5 Things To Do In Madison With Kids This Week (May 1)

Every week, Macaroni KID Madison shares our picks for five things to do with your kids in the Madison area over the coming week. Click on the links for all the details!

This week has a sale for season (summer and fall) passes to Schuster's Farm in addition to the opening of the Fitchburg (Thursday) and Monona (Sunday) farmer's markets, plus:

1. The first Biergarten at the Beach at Schluter Beach in Monona, right on the lake loop path and next to the playground. Live music, a food truck, and beer sales for the parents. Beer at 5, music 6-8 pm. Thursday, 5/4.

2. Gallery Night organized by the Madison Musuem of Contemporary Art, with kid-friendly activities including local bands, music, and food trucks at the Children's Museum and the First Friday's activities in and out of stores along Monroe StreetFriday, 5/5.

3.  UW-Madison Family Gardening Day. Explore hands-on activities with seeds, plants and soil. Discover books for all ages about gardening, and take home plants and sees for your own garden. Saturday, 5/6.

4. In the morning hear music from Casey Day at Java Cat in their beautiful new space on the east side, and celebrate FREE Comic Book Day in the afternoon with comics and crafts at the Verona Library. Saturday, 5/6.

5. Mother's Day paint partyAt the newly opened sensory zone (I got to tour last week, it's AMAZING), the Curious Crafter has options for both beginner and intermediate crafters. Sunday, 5/7.
