Casa de Corazón is a Spanish immersion early learning program for children from infancy through pre-kindergarten, with locations across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Casa’s approach goes beyond traditional early learning, combining language, culture, nutrition, and meaningful experiences throughout each child’s day.
Spanish immersion is woven naturally into each day at Casa. Teachers communicate with children in Spanish throughout daily routines, classroom activities, songs, stories, and play, allowing children to become familiar with the language through everyday experiences. No previous Spanish experience is needed to attend Casa, and children are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace.
Culture is something children experience every day at Casa. Casa’s teaching teams come from many different countries and cultural backgrounds, bringing their own languages, traditions, experiences, music, and stories into the classroom. Through Casa’s curriculum, children also explore countries around the world through hands-on activities, art, music, food, celebrations, and the Country of the Month. This gives children the opportunity to learn about cultures beyond their own while also seeing the cultures of their teachers and classmates celebrated within their classroom.
Nutrition plays a meaningful role in each child’s day at Casa. Casa’s unique food program introduces children to fresh, nutritious meals and a wide variety of ingredients and flavors from an early age. Meals are prepared with wholesome ingredients and expose children to foods they may not typically experience at home.
Casa has three uniques that are woven into each child’s day: Mind, Body, and Heart. Mind focuses on learning, curiosity, Spanish language development, and exploring different cultures. Body focuses on building healthy habits through nutritious food, movement, outdoor play, and staying active. Heart focuses on the relationships children build with their teachers, friends, and the Casa community.
Teachers are a huge part of what makes Casa special. They get to know each child individually, celebrate their milestones, support them through hard moments, and watch them grow. Casa values extended family, and teachers often become an extension of a child’s family during these important early years. With teachers from many different countries and backgrounds, children are also surrounded by different cultures, traditions, languages, and experiences every day.
A day at Casa can include art projects, sensory play, music and movement, outdoor time, group activities, meals together, Spanish throughout the day, and plenty of time to play and have fun.
With locations across Minnesota and Wisconsin, Casa de Corazón is a place where children can learn, grow, experience different cultures, build meaningful relationships, and feel cared for every day. Learn more by visiting www.casaearlylearning.com
At East Madison Skating School (EMSS), we believe skating is for everyone. Whether you’re lacing up for the first time or you’ve been skating for years, EMSS is a place where the east side of Madison can learn, skate, and have fun. Everyone falls on the ice, and we’ll be there to help you get back up and try again. We also offer adaptive skating and Special Olympics classes so that every skater has the support to glide, grow, and thrive. We hope to see you on the ice!
We skate at Hartmeyer Ice Arena, which has been home to local hockey teams and figure skaters since it was built in the 1960s. Despite its age, Hartmeyer still gives many kids and adults a place to skate. We are proud to work alongside East Madison Ice Collective, the nonprofit that runs the arena, to keep skating available to the east side of Madison.
